Belmont Light Announces Base Rate Adjustments

During its meeting on Monday, January 28, 2019, the Belmont Municipal Light Board voted to approve a modest rate adjustment plan for Belmont Light customers to go into effect on March 1, 2019.  This marks the first base rate revision for Belmont Light since June 2014.

The total impact to customers across all rate classes is two percent, which will produce a projected $500,000 increase in gross income, bolstering financial stability to support an increase in climate action initiatives, infrastructure advancement, and enhanced customer services.  Based on an average monthly usage of 550 kWh, the typical Belmont Light residential customer’s electric bill will increase by only about $3.00 per month.
