SCAM ALERT: July 13, 2020

Belmont Light is warning customers of a new scam targeting Belmont residents. In the scam, a caller posing as a Belmont Light Customer Service Representative will tell the customer that they have a refund waiting to be claimed and will ask the customer for banking information to complete the transfer.

Please note that Belmont Light DOES NOT offer electronic refunds currently. Any refunds or rebates will be made in the form of a bill credit or paper check. Belmont Light Customer Service Representatives will only call you in order to verify your address and other contact information and will not take payment or banking information over the phone.

If you suspect that a caller is attempting to scam you in regards to your Belmont Light account, please always hang up and call us at (617) 993-2800. Even if the call is legitimately from Belmont Light, we would rather our customers be safe than sorry.
