IFB 4005 Belmont Light 2020 Materials Blanket Bid

The Town of Belmont, acting by and through the Belmont Municipal Light Department, (hereafter referred to as the “BMLD”) and its Manager/CEO, is soliciting sealed bids for IFB 4005 – 2020 Materials Blanket Bid. The contract awarded pursuant to this Invitation for Bids, IFB, shall be for one calendar year from date of contract and shall be for a continuous supply of equipment, on an as-needed basis. The supplies to be provided pursuant to this IFB is based on estimated quantities determined by reference to past requirements, actual quantities shall be determined by the needs of the BMLD during the term of the contract. The contract should include an option to extend the contract for one additional Calendar Year. The option to extend the contract shall be at the sole discretion of the BMLD, and notice of the intention to exercise such option shall be provided by the BMLD at least thirty (30) days prior to the termination of each Contract Year.

Specifications and bid forms will be available electronically beginning on October 15th, 2020. Electronic copies will be available free of charge by written request to 2020Materials@belmontlight.com.

Sealed bids shall be submitted to the Office of the General Manager, Belmont Municipal Light Department, 40 Prince Street, Belmont, MA 02478, on or before 9:30 AM, Thursday, November 5th, 2020. All bids shall be opened publicly on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 at 9:30AM. If, at the time of the scheduled opening, the BMLD office is closed due to uncontrolled events such as fire, snow, ice, wind or unforeseen building closure, the bid opening will be postponed until 9:30 AM on the next business day on which the BMLD office is open for business.  Bids will be accepted until that date and time.

A bidder shall submit a copy of its bid in a sealed envelope, clearly marked on its face with the bidder’s name and address and the bid title: “IFB 4005 – 2020 Materials Blanket Bid” with attention to “Procurement”. Bids must be received in the appropriate office as indicated above prior to the submission deadline. The BMLD shall not be responsible for the inadvertent opening of any bid not appropriately identified as required prior to the submission deadline. The bidder shall be solely responsible for the timely delivery of its bid.
