The Future of Belmont Light Governance

In June 2020, Belmont Light proposed to the Light Board Advisory Board and Municipal Light Board a change to the governance structure of Belmont Light. Two public forums were held in anticipation of a potential Town Meeting vote in 2021 on whether to simplify governance of Belmont Light, which is currently overseen by the Municipal Light Board (MLB), made up of the Members of the Select Board, with advice and support form the Light Board Advisory Committee. We want your input in how to create oversight for the utility of the future.
