Join us on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, for a fun, family-friendly celebration of Public Power Week 2026!

We’re opening our doors for our FREE 4th annual Public Power Week Open House to share how local, community-owned public power utilities like Belmont Light work to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to our community.

This free event is perfect for families with young children and anyone who wants to learn more about the people, equipment, and community commitment behind the power that keeps our lights on.

What is Public Power Week?

Public Power Week (October 4–10, 2026), is a nationwide celebration of the more than 2,000 community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities across the United States.

Public power utilities are owned and operated by the communities they serve. That means our focus is right here in Belmont, providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity while supporting the people, families, and businesses in our community.

This year’s Public Power Week theme is “Your Community. Your Utility. Your Power.” It’s a reminder that public power belongs to the community and that customers have an important role in shaping and engaging with their local utility.

At Belmont Light, we’re proud to be your community-owned utility. Every day, our team works to provide reliable service, help customers manage their energy use, invest in our local infrastructure, and plan for a sustainable energy future.
