Belmont Light Earns Smart Energy Provider Designation

Belmont Light is proud to announce that it has earned a Smart Energy Provider (SEP) designation from the American Public Power Association (APPA), adding a third national recognition to its 2026 achievements.

The SEP designation recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate commitment to and proficiency in energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, renewable energy, and environmental initiatives. The program also recognizes utilities’ efforts in smart energy planning and customer communication and education.

For Belmont Light, the designation reflects the utility’s continued work to provide reliable electric service while advancing energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and other initiatives that support Belmont’s energy future.

The Smart Energy Provider designation joins Belmont Light’s RP3 Diamond Level designation and Certificate of Excellence in Reliability, both announced earlier this year. Together, these three national recognitions highlight Belmont Light’s ongoing commitment to reliable service, responsible energy management, and the Belmont community.
