Belmont Light is now offering the Battery Storage Rebate for residential customers. Battery Storage system must be installed at a residential address and can be installed with or without attachment to a solar photovoltaic system. The Standard Interconnection Application process must be followed for the installation of the battery system.

Battery systems can be for short term coverage of outages or for more dynamic control of using solar to power one’s home.


Application Process

  • Installer submits Interconnection Application and follows process for installation
  • Customer or installer fills out Battery Storage System Rebate application (see below) and submits to EnergyResources@BelmontLight.com.
    • Rebate application can be submitted after the installation or at the time of interconnection application
  • Application will be reviewed and customer and installer informed of approval
  • Applications must be submitted within six (6) months installation
  • If approved, rebate will be applied as bill credit

Rebate

Rebate is $500 per account per year, regardless of total system size.

Additional Incentives – Connected Homes

The following battery types are eligible for additional incentives when connected to Belmont’s demand response program – Connected Homes.

For eligible battery systems purchased after January 1st, 2024 and enrolled in ConnectedHomes, customers may receive $250 for each participating Battery over 10kWh, up to $750 for a 30+kWh Battery system. This is in addition to the monthly incentives. To be eligible for a rebate a battery system should have:

  • Approved Interconnection Application
  • Permission to Energize Letter
  • Should be enrolled in ConnectedHomes.

To claim your rebate, email Belmont (EnergyResources@belmontlight.com) with the copy of the receipts and proof of enrollment in ConnectedHomes, and we will process your rebate as a bill credit.
