Mass Save Insulation Incentive

Please note: natural gas heating customers (of National Grid) should apply for the Mass Save insulation incentive, which is separate from Belmont Light programs. National Grid gas heating and new-construction customers are not eligible for the Belmont Light weatherization incentives.

Belmont Light Weatherization Incentive Program

Residents and landlords who use oil and/or electric heating and install insulation and/or sealing are eligible for an annual weatherization incentive. Improvements can include, but not limited to:

    • Attic insulation

    • Wall insulation

    • Air sealing

    • Duct sealing

Guidelines

    • Self-installation of material DO NOT qualify for the rebate

    • Work must be performed by a licensed contractor

    • Applications must be submitted within six (6) months of installation of materials

Incentive Amounts

    • Incentives are for 75% of the total cost

    • Incentives are broken up in to two categories:
        • Air Sealing

        • Insulation

    • Each year, eligible customers can receive up to:
      • $500 of air sealing costs
      • $1,500 of insulation costs
    • Low income customers are eligible for additional incentives:
      • $250 air sealing adder
      • $500 insulation adder

Document Requirements

    • Proof of HEA report

    • Invoice/receipt of materials purchased

    • Invoice of work performed

Apply Now

Apply online through the Online Rebate Portal with your invoice and proof of the home energy assessment. Please allow 6-8 weeks for review and processing for the rebate to appear on your electric bill.

Weatherization measures that were recommended by a Home Energy Assessment may be eligible for financing through the new state-run MLP Z-loan program.
